The first Uganda – Nordic Business Forum and Exhibition has opened up in Kampala aimed at improving trade ties between the Pearl of Africa and countries including Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. According to the organizers, the forum hopes to raise the profile of participators and presence in the East African region, and provide a platform that will contribute to the nurturing of meaningful and lasting Nordic – Uganda business relationships.

Uganda will next week host a high level International meeting, the Global Forum on Local Government from the 4th to 6th of this month. The meeting convened by the United Nations Capital Development Fund and the UNDP will discuss means of achieving the Millennium Development Goals through Local Governments in developing nations. The meeting, expected to bring together 600 participants from 81 countries globally world will be opened by President Yoweri Museveni.
